Keep a copy of what a page said
Pages change and disappear. Store the text when you read it.
A URL is not a record. If a claim matters, keep the text as it was when you relied on it, in a format that is still readable years later.
- Text and Markdown are returned together, so you are not locked into one format.
- Author, site name and language are captured alongside the body where the page declares them.
- Always refetches, so the copy you store is the page at the moment you stored it.
Markdown and plain text both come back in the same call, so you can store the one that suits your archive.
