Pay for what you run

Per request, at the rate for the tier you chose. The first 20 results are included; beyond that each result carries a small additional rate. Extraction is billed only for pages whose content comes back in your results, so a page that fails to load costs nothing. We often read more pages than that to rank them, and you are not charged for the difference.

Yes. POST /api/extract takes up to 8 URLs you already have and returns the same readable text and Markdown a search would, billed at the same $1.00 per 1,000 pages. It always fetches, so it is the endpoint to use when you need the page as it is right now.

No. POST /api/answer assembles its reply from spans quoted verbatim out of the pages it read, so a citation cannot point at something the page never said. Every [n] marker resolves to a source, and passages carries the exact text quoted next to the source it came from. When nothing in the sources supports an answer, it comes back empty rather than invented.

No. Nothing you send us is written to a database: not the query, not the URLs you extract, not the question you ask, and not the results we return. Search has no database at all. What we do keep is that you called and when, the method, path, status, duration and IP, for 30 days, which is what your usage screen and your invoice are built from. Results are cached so a repeated request is free, ten minutes for a search and up to seven days for page text keyed by URL, and both expire on their own.

$4.00 per 1,000 answers, and that rate is all-inclusive: the search behind the answer and the pages it reads are covered by it. Asking the same question at a deeper tier reads further and costs the same. You asked one question, so you pay for one thing.

No. Paid credits stay on the account until you spend them, and they are used before your monthly free grant, so the free allowance is never the thing that goes to waste.

Every account gets $10 of credit each month. No card is needed to start, and the allowance renews whether or not you ever top up.

The request is refused with a 402 before any work is done, so you are never charged for a partial answer. Subscribe to the credits.low webhook and you will know well before it happens.

Yes. Every charge appears in the dashboard with its operation, tier and exact cost, alongside a full credit ledger. Amounts are counted in millionths of a dollar, so nothing is lost to rounding.
